SAN DIEGO, CA – The San Diego Youth Aztecs are opening their doors to the next generation of athletes this weekend. On Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM the organization will host a community-wide skills clinic designed to introduce local youth to the fundamentals of football and cheerleading while offering a chance to meet the coaching staff for the upcoming 2026 season.
Sharpening Skills on the Turf
The highlight of the day is a Free Football Skills Clinic open to all athletes ages 5–14. This no-contact session focuses on the core pillars of the game:
-
Agility & Footwork: High-energy drills to improve speed and coordination
-
Position Fundamentals: Introductory coaching for passing, catching, and defensive positioning.
-
Teamwork: A focus on sportsmanship and building camaraderie with future teammates.
"This is the perfect opportunity for players to get back on the field, shake off the rust, and see what Aztec football is all about," said a representative for the program. "It’s about more than just drills; it’s about character and community."
Spirit and Sidelines
Alongside the football activities, the Lady Aztecs will hold a specialized Cheer Clinic for a registration fee of $10.00. This session is open to community members looking to learn the basics of sideline cheer, jumps, and motion technique.
Following a championship-winning 2025 season, the Lady Aztecs program continues to grow, offering youth athletes a path toward competitive cheer and regional performance opportunities.
